The New Tejano playlist on Spotify for September showcases the new wave of many talented women breaking through with hot new hits in the historically male-dominated genre.

September’s New Tejano Playlist, co-curated by Tejano Nation, features new music from rising stars including Veronique Medrano, Destiny Navaira, Devin Banda, Aisha, Monica Saldivar, Magali Delarosa, and the past two Best New Female Artist winners at the Tejano Music Awards with Isabel Marie in 2017 and Mia in 2018.

Two of the biggest hits of the Summer of 2019 are also featured this month with the collaboration of La Calma and Stefani Montiel on their version of “Echame La Culpa,” a cumbia remake of the worldwide hit from Luis Fonsi and Demi Lovato, and “Desechable,” the duet from Lucky Joe and Elida Reyna.

New music from veterans is also featured including Jay Perez, Los Palominos, Michael Salgado, Ruben Ramos and more.

Tejano Nation and Spotify have collaborated tot highlight today’s hottest new Tejano hits from Tejano music’s biggest and rising stars.

“We’re excited to collaborate with the cultural experts at Tejano Nation on this new initiative that will help bring some of the most exciting voices in the Tejano music scene to the forefront and connect them with Spotify users who are passionate about the present and future of the movement,” said Rocio Guerrero, Head of Global Cultures at Spotify.
